Low earnings or large gaps between rewards

Symptoms

Your earnings are low, lower than usual, or your earnings have large gaps inbetween. The situation was definitely better a few days and weeks ago.

Cause

• Network has not moved to Light Hotspot software yet.
• Network is growing too quickly and is becoming bloated.

Fix

The Helium team recently announced in a post that they are taking care of the issue regarding lower to no earnings that started to happen at the start of March 2022, see here:

The issue affects everyone on the network – some more, some less, some not at all. Unfortunately, there is currently no other option than to wait until Helium releases a fix. Please keep an eye on Helium Discord in order to know when there are workarounds for this issue.

Furthermore, we hope that the transition to Light Hotspot software will come as soon as possible so that these problems can be fixed as quickly as possible.

Earnings gaps are normal and can happen from time to time as well, also sometimes lower earnings happen due to the miner being too busy with some script or other things that are running.
